Fields Medal
Lars Valerian Ahlfors was awarded a Fields Medal in $\text {1936}$ at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Oslo:
- Awarded medal for research on covering surfaces related to Riemann surfaces of inverse functions of entire and meromorphic functions. Opened up new fields of analysis.
Wolf Prize
Lars Valerian Ahlfors was awarded a Wolf Prize for Mathematics in $\text {1981}$:
- For seminal discoveries and the creation of powerful new methods in geometric function theory.
