Mistake
- [$297$ is] the $5$th Kaprekar number.
Correction
In fact it is the $6$th, if you include the trivial case of $1$:
- $1, 9, 45, 55, 99, 297$
It might be argued that David Wells meant to omit $1$ in his count, but this is then inconsistent with his entry on $45$:
- The $3$rd smallest Kaprekar number, after $1$ and $9$.
