Historical Note on Complex Analysis
The field of complex analysis, and the theory of functions of a complex variable was in effect created by Augustin Louis Cauchy.
Karl Weierstrass rebuilt the entire mathematical discipline from the ground up in the process of his studies into Abelian functions.
