Definition

Let $P$ be a polygon.

Let $A, B, C$ be vertices of $P$ such that $\angle BAC$ is an internal angle of the vertex $A$.

Let $BC$ be a chord of $P$.

Then the triangle $\triangle ABC$ is an ear of $P$.
