A hexad is a set or tuple which has exactly $6$ elements.
Also known as
Some source suggest that a hectad is a synonym for hexad, but others suggest that this is a mistake.
The term hectad is also defined as a unit of area equal to a square whose side is $10 \ \mathrm {km}$.
Linguistic Note
The word hexad derives from the Classical Greek hex (ἕξ), meaning six.
