Definition

The thrust of a rocket is defined as the product of the exhaust velocity and the rate at which its fuel is being consumed:

$\mathbf t = \mathbf b \paren {\dfrac {\d m} {\d t} }$

where:

$\mathbf b$ is the exhaust velocity
$m$ is the mass of the rocket as a function of time $t$.
