Examples

For the dihedral group of 2*n elements the center is $1 , r^{n/2}$ for n even and the trivial subgroup for n odd

Notation

In putting up Center of Opposite Group, I found strangely enough that the notation does not allow to designate the operation $\circ$. This needs to be looked into. --Lord_Farin 19:05, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
