"If we start giving definitions for every possible ring it'll go on forever." Straw man argument. $\Z$ and $\Q$ are how this is defined. If content is defined for other sorts of ring we haven't seen the definition.

Recommend we go back to what it was before the latest edit and separate it out into two pages like I suggested. --prime mover (talk) 12:13, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

As you wish, but 'tis the same definition twice. --Linus44 (talk) 22:25, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
Okay, I've had a proper look, now I've had time to take a look at it again. You're right, the all-in-one definition is one-size-fits-all. Probably worth while making a two-definition page for this one: one for what it is and one for the other thing.
I will be getting to this page in due course, but at the moment I'm up to my elbows in lots of other things non-PW-related and badly failing at getting everything done that I'm being tasked with, so this will wait. (I wish I wasn't so tired but there's a limit to the amount one can rely on caffeine.) --prime mover (talk) 22:43, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
