The title is misleading. The word region is reserved for specific (not necessarily open) subsets of $\mathbb C$. --barto (talk) 15:31, 23 January 2017 (EST)

Possibly. Some sources insist a region has to be open as well as path-connected. The merge with "analytic" may be worthwhile, but the distinction between "analytic at a point" and "analytic on a region / open set / whatever" is worth retaining. --prime mover (talk) 15:35, 23 January 2017 (EST)
I agree. Apparently it's too early to clean up the notions of complex differentiability, as we first need to sort out things like disk, ball (open and closed), region, ... :/ --barto (talk) 15:41, 23 January 2017 (EST)
While an attempt was made at some stage by a stalwart and respected contributor to handle all the heavy lifting around the subject of Jordan curves, little has been done at the raw fundamentals -- I had a go some years ago but discovered early on that the topological groundwork need to be established first, and then I never got round to finishing it. The biggest challenge here is establishing a consistent approach as regards naming conventions and definitions. Big headache, not my favourite area; I find analysis, particularly complex, tedious and boring. --prime mover (talk) 16:01, 23 January 2017 (EST)
