Rename suggestion

"Matrix relative to..." is how it is defined in Warner -- it's a good enough name which works well enough and is short and neat. Unless it clashes badly with another definition of "relative matrix" that you have planned, I would recommend we stick with this. If you require a more clarificational name, then we can if you like easily set up a redirect, I suppose. --prime mover (talk) 08:02, 19 March 2017 (EDT)

Okay. It was hard to find this page though. What about creating the redirects
Definition:Relative Matrix of Linear Map or
Definition:Relative Matrix of Linear Transformation ? --barto (talk) 09:13, 19 March 2017 (EDT)
Good call -- I see where you're coming from here. Feel free to set up whatever redirects you think will help most from the direction you are coming from. If either (or both) of the above work for that, go for it. --prime mover (talk) 10:04, 19 March 2017 (EDT)
Warner really calls it "Matrix of a linear transformation (relative to a basis)" so renaming is a good idea. In any case, the matrix itself is not "relative". --barto (talk) (contribs) 14:21, 18 March 2018 (EDT)

There are Relative Matrices for a lot of things: linear mappings, quadratic forms, bilinear forms, sesquilinear forms etc etc... What should we do? --barto (talk) 08:35, 2 May 2017 (EDT)
