Definition talk:Sphere/Topology

This concept is not just used in topology; also in e.g. differential geometry and probably many other domains. It would make more sense to name this Definition:Sphere/Euclidean Space or even Definition:Sphere (Euclidean Space). It also makes sense to talk about spheres in general metric spaces, so this issue becomes part of the family of Definition:Open Ball of Metric Space, Definition:Closed Ball, Definition:Disk --barto (talk) 16:10, 2 February 2017 (EST)

As a first step, I think it makes sense to move Definition:Sphere/Geometry to Definition:Sphere (Geometry), but all this has to be carefully thought out. --barto (talk) 16:12, 2 February 2017 (EST)
No, please leave Sphere/Geometry where it is for the moment at least, because it is all part of the main top level page Definition:Sphere. It may not look like it but there is a reason for things having been structured the way they are. Before we start to radically change the carefully-thought-out structure that we have spent the last 9 years evolving, we need to have a good reason for it. --prime mover (talk) 18:48, 2 February 2017 (EST)
