Definition talk:Splitting Field

Before refactoring, we have to decide about the terminology. It is common to define a splitting field as one that is generated by the roots, so not just an arbitrary field where the polynomial splits. I've noticed the other definition is rarely seen (e.g. on forums, or Wikipedia), so I'm amfraid ProofWiki will become too alienated if we don't adopt this convention. We can (and should) of course have a definition addressing the notion of "a polynomial that splits", e.g. Definition:Splitting Polynomial --barto (talk) 17:06, 17 March 2017 (EDT)
