The $n > 0$ is important: if $n$ is allowed to be $0$ you get the reflexive transitive closure instead. --Dfeuer (talk) 18:57, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Well okay, but saying "there exists n such that there exists ..." comes across as clumsy. Suggest you go back to where you found the original definition and use that. Oh, and add the citation - usual rules, cite it or lose it. --prime mover (talk) 19:20, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
