Convention Shift

This part of this page:

* [[Definition:Increasing Sequence of Sets|Increasing Sequence of Sets]]

is a correct entry. (Help:Page Editing#Also see)

is believed to no longer hold according to Talk:Main Page/Archive 9#Convention shift, which appears to currently hold, as the following popular pages use it:

--StarTower (talk) 02:44, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

Well spotted. This convention shift is still in the process of being implemented. That is, when we see them in the old format, we are encouraged to change them to the new.
The help page has been amended as appropriate. --prime mover (talk) 02:50, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

Mind if I raise the levels of all sections by 1 in the hierarchy? There's no index this way. Hard to find what you're looking for. --barto (talk) 07:38, 30 July 2017 (EDT)

Nothing to do with the heading levels. It's to do with the fact that we have a custom section title widget which was never completed so as to implement table of contents.
You mean this <section title="Page Editing" name="tc">? It seems that if we remove it, there is a ToC. Can we? --barto (talk) 07:57, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
Not sure, there may be a dependency on the page transcluding it, and there may be useful functionality that may thereby he compromised. Note to self: make sure these help pages are admin-only locked. --prime mover (talk) 08:40, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
Okay. This page is not transcluded, so it should be safe. I'll await other reactions. --barto (talk) 08:45, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
I don't understand Note to self: make sure these help pages are admin-only locked. --barto (talk) 08:45, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
Ah, I think I do now. But the help section really needs expanding. There are many conventions that are not addressed. I will only write about things of which I know what the consensus is. If there's something that has not yet been discussed, I will raise a discussion. My goal is not to transform ProofWiki in a way I want it, just to make it more transparent.
It would be awesome to have a complete and nicely structured Help Section.
The thing is also, I'm making $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$ more popular by encouraging people to contribute. But much of the house style is implicit and takes time to discover. With a more detailed Help Section, new users will adapt much more quickly.
Also, you won't have to give them lengthy remarks anymore (which also scares contributors away); just give them some links to Help articles. --barto (talk) 09:03, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
It seems best to continue the discussion on the main page. --barto (talk) 09:09, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
