German physicist and mathematician best remembered for Ohm's Law.

This discovery was disbelieved at first, because it seemed to mathematically convenient to be true.

Teacher of Johann Peter Gustav Lejeune Dirichlet.

Elder brother of Martin Ohm.

  • Died: 6 July 1854 in Munich, Kingdom of Bavaria (now Germany)

Some sources give his birth date as 1787, but this is not widely corroborated.
