- Born: 2 August 1971 in Brighton, England
- 1981: Passed the Oxford University entrance examination in mathematics
- 1983: Joined St Hugh's College
- 1985: Graduated with a starred first and special commendation
- 1986: Bachelor's degree in physics
- June 1989: Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in mathematics at Oxford
- 1990: Junior fellow at Harvard University
- 1993: Moved to the University of Michigan
- 1997: Became associate professor with tenure
- 1998: Married Ariyeh Neimark and adopted the name Ruth Lawrence-Neimark.
- 1999: Moved to Israel with Ariyeh Neimark, took up post of associate professor of mathematics at the Einstein Institute of Mathematics
- 2012: Became Fellow of American Mathematical Society
