How do I cite a letter? Zermelo wrote an important letter to Hilbert in September 1904, known by its postmark from "Münden in Hann." --GFauxPas (talk) 01:02, 5 June 2018 (EDT)

Good question. Don't know, it's never come up (except for tangential references to letters between e.g. Euler and Goldbach).
If you're of a mind, put together a paradigm of how you'd like to see it implemented and referenced, and we can build on that. --prime mover (talk) 08:06, 5 June 2018 (EDT)
Google suggests that people refer to it as the Münden in Hann. letter from Zermelo to Hilbert, so that's what we can call it:
"Münden in Hann." Letter from Ernst F.F. Zermelo to David Hilbert. Postmarked September 24, 1904, Hann. Münden, Germany.
or something. --GFauxPas (talk) 08:41, 5 June 2018 (EDT)
As I say, feel free to put something together that looks sensible and generally fits in with our house style, and we can rearrange it as we see fit. As I haven't a clue what you're referring to specifically, I can't make a start on it. --prime mover (talk) 11:34, 5 June 2018 (EDT)
