Proportion is Reflexive

Proportion is a reflexive relation.

That is, every real variable is proportional to itself:

$\forall x \in \R: x \propto x$

Proof

Let $x$ be arbitrary.

Then $x = 1 \times x$.

The result follows from the definition of reflexivity and proportion.
