Mistake
- Subfactorial $5 = 5! \paren {1 - 1 / {1!} + 1 / {2!} - 1 / {3!} - 1 / {4!} - 1 / {5!} } = 44$
Correction
There is an incorrect sign.
It should read:
- Subfactorial $5 = 5! \paren {1 - 1 / {1!} + 1 / {2!} - 1 / {3!} + 1 / {4!} - 1 / {5!} } = 44$
This typo does not exist in the first edition of David Wells: Curious and Interesting Numbers.
