Technically, the line $e \left({X}\right) = c$ uses the canonical injection of generators into the free (commutative) monoid generated by them, but I presume we will not bother with such minor technical category-theoretic details. It gets messy if we do. --Lord_Farin 16:20, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
