Sum of exponents would make me think of $\exp a + \exp b$. Perhaps, sum of indices? --Ybab321 (talk) 10:59, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

@PM: The problem with that is, if we have $a^{x+y}$, it is not clear that $x$ and $y$ are exponents of something else yet. Rethinking it, "Power with Sum Exponent" sounds awkward; I strongly suggest "Product of Powers" and "Quotient of Powers"; this provides a nice naming scheme with the others (Power of Product and Power of Quotient). It will probably mean swapping the equalities, but at least the names won't be as convoluted, and (more importantly) easier to come up with when looking for them.

@Ybab: Perhaps you're mixing up Definition:Exponent and Definition:Exponential Function? We have no other instances of referring to the exponent as "index", so that will make locating the result even harder. — Lord_Farin (talk) 11:01, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Product of Powers suits me, then ... there is always a tradeoff between unwieldy titles conveying strict accuracy and short pithy titles which, while easier to use, possibly do not reflect with full accuracy what is in the page. Refactoring

I have a second proof of this. However, I do not wish to compromise the linear flow of sources. When I refactoring this page into .../Proof_1 and .../Proof_2, should I have the sources point to .../Proof_1, to the parent page, or to both? --Keith.U 03:06, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
