Wait, what? You have a comment about not liking that notation. I just created a page laying out a similar, but more common, version of that notation (see Definition:Ray (Order Theory)). Why can't we use that here? --Dfeuer (talk) 13:09, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

It pertains to any ordered set. Ray apparently is only defined (and sensibly, given the notation) for tosets. Upper and lower closure suffer from no such restrictions. --Lord_Farin (talk) 13:25, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
Yes, but the intermediate value theorem also pertains only to totally ordered sets, so that's not actually a problem here. --Dfeuer (talk) 13:34, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
That's not what it currently says... --Lord_Farin (talk) 13:35, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
Amended. The point below still stands. --Lord_Farin (talk) 13:37, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
At the very least, the concept needs to be linked to, because this notation is far from universal. --Lord_Farin (talk) 13:26, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
