Not sure if this was the right page in which to put this information

I wasn't sure if the additional information for $\Q \sqbrk {\sqrt 2}$ being the field extension for the splitting field of the minimal polynomial of $x^2 - 2$ went here or not, so I added it below the content that is transcluded so that only those interested in the additional information would see it. I also made sure to add a citation and include links to related definitions. Jflopezfernandez (talk) 13:21, 28 March 2020 (EDT)

I'm fairly sure it already exists somewhere on $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$, it would need to be hunted down. The notation $\left\langle{x^2 - 2}\right\rangle$ I'm not sure we have documented. --prime mover (talk) 16:19, 28 March 2020 (EDT)
We also have: Field Extension/Examples/Real Numbers of Type Rational a plus b root 2. What you included on this page needs to be explained in its own page, transcluded in whatever page needed to explain the terminology and that derives the result formally within the framework of splitting fields. --prime mover (talk) 16:25, 28 March 2020 (EDT)
I had a feeling it would make more sense for it to have its own page, but I'm still learning the ropes around here so I opted for not creating its own page before getting a little direction first. I appreciate the feedback. I'm happy to do the refactoring for this topic, but I'm going to wait on it for a bit while I get experience with more straightforward contributions. Thanks again.
