Reference it, I'd say. The triangle inequality is generally used in its current form in yer general topological/analytical context and the Sum of Two Sides one in its geometric context. I'd reference the latter from the former as a "special case" in the metric space that is the Euclidean metric space, and you could probably reference it back in the other direction as an algebraic interpretation of the geometric proof. --prime mover (talk) 23:16, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
