Historical Note
Possibly the first work that investigates the number of solutions to a general indeterminate equation.
The title is derived from a type of problems known in the east: the One Hundred Fowls problems, which involve the purchase of different species of birds.
The book arose as an offshoot of his Kitāb al-ṭarā'if fi'l-ḥisāb.
