Correction
The work published in $1679$ was posthumous, and was in fact Ad Locos Planos et Solidos Isagoge ("Introduction to Plane and Solid Loci").
The original informally-circulated but not formally published dated from $1636$ or $1637$, on which René Descartes based his own La Géométrie of $1637$.
