Let $S_1$, $S_2$ and $S_3$ be sets.

A ternary relation $\RR$ on $S_1$, $S_2$ and $S_3$ is defined as:

$\RR := \struct {S_1, S_2, S_3, R}$

where $R$ is an arbitrary subset $R \subseteq S_1 \times S_2 \times S_3$.
