Definition

Let $\mathbf u$ and $\mathbf v$ be vector quantities in space such that:

the lines of action of $\mathbf u$ and $\mathbf v$ are the same or parallel
their directions are opposite.


Then $\mathbf u$ and $\mathbf v$ are antiparallel.
