Definition
A decimal fraction is a number between $0$ and $1$ expressed in decimal notation.
Examples
Example: $0 \cdotp 537$
The number $0 \cdotp 537$ is a decimal fraction intepreted as:
\(\ds 0 \cdotp 537\) | \(=\) | \(\ds 0 + \dfrac 5 {10} + \dfrac 3 {100} + \dfrac 7 {1000}\) | ||||||||||||
