Definition
One-way classification is the simplest analysis of variance technique, in which treatments are allocated randomly to experimental units.
Examples
Arbitrary Example
This is an example of the use of one-way classification:
$3$ treatments $A$, $B$ and $C$ may be allocated to $13$ experimental units.
- $5$ of those experimental units are chosen at random to receive treatment $A$
- $4$ of those experimental units are chosen at random to receive treatment $B$
- $4$ of those experimental units are chosen at random to receive treatment $C$.
