Linguistic Note on Polyhedron
The word polyhedron comes directly from the Classical Greek πολύεδρον:
- polys (πολύς), meaning many
- hedron (a form of ἕδρα), meaning base or seat.
The technically correct plural of polyhedron is polyhedra, but the word polyhedrons can often be found.
