Definition
Definition Let $B$ be a body $B$ passing through a fluid $F$.
The Reynolds number $\mathrm {Re}$ for $B$ is defined as:
- $\mathrm {Re} = \dfrac {v l} \nu$
where:
- $v$ is the speed of $B$ through $F$
- $L$ is a representative length of $B$
- $\nu$ is the kinematic viscosity of $F$.
