There is believed to be a mistake here, possibly a typo. In particular: The definition should be of a simple hypothesis not of a simple hypothesis test. However, simple hypothesis already has a different definition. This will need to be resolved. You can help $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$ by reviewing it, and either correcting it or adding some explanatory material as to why you believe it is actually correct after all. Definition
Let $\delta$ be a hypothesis test.
Then $\delta$ is a simple hypothesis test if and only if the probability distribution of the population random variable is completely specified.
Examples
Arbitrary Example
Let $\delta$ be a hypothesis test.
Let $H_0$ be the null hypothesis that the probability distribution $X$ of $\delta$ is:
- $X \sim \Gaussian 2 9$
where $\Gaussian 2 9$ denotes the normal distribution.
Then $\delta$ is a simple hypothesis test.
