A substitution cipher is a cipher in which each letter is encoded by substituting for it a different letter, or string of letters.

Mono-Alphabetic

A mono-alphabetic substitution cipher is a substitution cipher in which each individual letter is replaced by a letter, or string of letters, from a single alphabet.
