Historical Note on Tensor Theory
The field of tensor theory was initially developed by Gregorio Ricci-Curbastro, along with Tullio Levi-Civita as a generalization of vector analysis.
It was used by Albert Einstein in his formulation of the general theory of relativity.
It is important in differential geometry and physics.
