- shear 2.
Mistake
- The shear of the plane with invariant line $x = 0$ and angle $\theta$ maps the point with Cartesian coordinates $\tuple {x, y}$ to $\tuple {x + y \tan \theta, y}$.
Correction
The invariant line for such a shear is actually the $x$-axis, that is, the line $y = 0$.
