Longitudes on Mercator's Projection are Same Distance Apart

Theorem

Let $\MM$ be a Mercator's projection of Earth's surface such that the cylinder circumscribing Earth intersects it along the equator.

Then equally spaced lines of longitude on Earth map to parallel lines on $\MM$ which are also equally spaced.
