Examples of Robustness
T-Test
The $t$-test is an example of a statistical test which is robust with respect to departures from normality if the observations are from nearly symmetrical distributions with aopproximately the same variance.
However, it is less robust in the face of distributions which are skew, or if the variances are very different.
Non-Parametric Test
A non-parametric test tends to be more robust with respect to outliers than its parametric counterpart.
