The concept of 'join' could be used to pursue the properties of 'unital magmas' but I haven't encountered any of those that was both interesting and not a monoid. Problems arise when it is unknown whether something is a sequence; it will be hard to determine what the output of 'strip' will be. --Lord_Farin 22:16, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
