Definition
A dilatation is a mapping $T: \R^n \to \R^n$ that maps straight lines onto parallel lines.
Hence a dilatation is either a translation or a central dilatation.
Also known as
A dilatation is also known as a dilation mapping, but this term is also used for a central dilatation mapping.
