The notation $\map L {f, P}$ or $\map L {P, f}$ can be used in place of $\map {L^{\paren f} } P$.
The lower Darboux sum is also known as:
- the lower Riemann sum (for Georg Friedrich Bernhard Riemann)
- the lower sum.
