# Definition:Point

## Definition

In the words of Euclid:

*A***point**is that which has no part.

(*The Elements*: Book $\text{I}$: Definition $1$)

This is interpreted to mean that a **point** is something that can not be divided into anything smaller.

That is, it is an object in space which has zero size and is therefore the smallest thing that can be imagined.

The only property possessed by a **point** is position.
