The notation $\map U {f, P}$ or $\map U {P, f}$ can be used in place of $\map {U^{\paren f} } P$.
The upper Darboux sum is also known as:
- the upper Riemann sum (for Georg Friedrich Bernhard Riemann)
- the upper sum.
