I thought the definition was a primitive root was a generator of the multiplicative group of units mod n. This is equivalent to the current definition if we know that group has order phi(n) and a generator has the same order as the cyclic group. Qwr (talk) 05:33, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

- a) Identify a source which actually defines a primitive root as such.
- b) Use the standard style of multiple definition pages to create the above definition
- c) Raise a page demonstrating the equivalence between the two definitions.
