You say to-may-to, I say to-mah-to.

One of the aims of this site is consistency. We understand that there may be different names for the same concept, and we make an effort to indicate on each of the appropriate pages what those alternatives are. Having said that, we then choose a particular name which we "like" (usually the person who first posts the concept up gets to choose; by default the initial posting is good as any other and why change pages just for the sake of it? but it is appreciated that if the air becomes thick with flying stuffed toys we may have to change our default). Having chosen a name that we like, we stick to it throughout the site.

That preamble over: what's it to be, gentlemen? Grading or Gradation? Take your time. --prime mover (talk) 16:25, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Don't mind. Grading is more common, but gradation is also in use; may as well go with the latter since that was there first. --Linus44 (talk) 17:09, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
