Talk:Piecewise Continuous Function with One-Sided Limits is Bounded

A few points for clarification/information:

  1. I had anticipated for Definition:Subinterval to be written, so the link ought to have stayed.
  2. I had anticipated for Mapping Bounded on Union iff Bounded on Each Component (perhaps under another title) being written, as it's bound (heh) to come up more often.
  3. Please do not place part of a maths expression outside of the dollar signs. It looks incredibly ugly. For example, you can write $\max \left\{{f \left({x_1}\right), \ldots, f \left({x_n}\right)}\right\}$ by \max \left\{{f \left({x_1}\right), \ldots, f \left({x_n}\right)}\right\}. — Lord_Farin (talk) 10:51, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

1. Lord_Farin, I think I got your meaning at the time. However, when I introduced the word "subinterval", I believed that word to be a proper word to use for an open interval as compared to the corresponding closed interval. Later, I searched the Internet, and it seemed that subintervals are what one gets when one subdivides an interval into several subintervals. I concluded that the word "subinterval" was not the proper term to use, which is why I chose to reformulate and consequently removed Definition:Subinterval.

2. I did not understand that you anticipated for "Mapping Bounded on Union iff Bounded on Each Component" to be written in its own page. I see your point now.

3. I'll try to improve my technical skills, but there are so many technicalities to learn that I am afraid it is going to take some time.

Thanks, Lord_Farin, for your work with correcting the technical problems on the theorem page. Ivar Sand (talk) 08:11, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

According to References to Definitions in the house style it seems to me that "max" is correctly linked by using the first word in the name of the definition that is being linked to, namely Definition:Max Operation/General Definition/Real Numbers, apart from the fact that a small "m" is used on the page.

Can someone please explain what the problem is, or simply do the change required? Ivar Sand (talk) 09:26, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

The expression should be fully between dollar signs, and the link should be in words. This precludes any misinterpretation due to mixed typesetting. I've changed it to an acceptable variant. — Lord_Farin (talk) 09:38, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
