What are appropriate categories? The result is of an algebraic nature, but the proof is necessarily topological (as it requires completeness of the reals). Also, this proof applies only to reals, although there's also a version for complex numbers. --Dfeuer (talk) 20:22, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
