Talk:Zassenhaus Lemma

It seems there are some issues in the proof:

  • NH/H ≅ H/(H ∩ N) usually is called the Second Isomorphism Theorem.
As stated on the Third Isomorphism Theorem, page:
There is no standard numbering for the Isomorphism Theorems. Different authors use different labellings.
This particular result, for example, is also known both as the first isomorphism theorem and the second isomorphism theorem, according to source.
It is of course impossible to select a naming system for theorems which is completely consistent with all published sources. the best we can do is to pick one, document the fact that its name varies throughout the literature, and ensure that we are internally consistent.
The question about the abelian group assumption is to be investigated in due course. --prime mover (talk) 01:05, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
Update: I have revisited the source work I took this result from, and have fixed a few transcription errors. Please feel free to review this. --prime mover (talk) 01:19, 5 July 2018 (EDT)

Okay the problem is fixed -- the wrong page was being invoked, it should have been Second Isomorphism Theorem.
