Will it be $\sim {\chi^2}_n$ or $\sim \chi^2_n$? I see both being used. I lean towards $\sim \chi^2_n$. --Robkahn131 (talk) 22:56, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

I find the merging of super- and subscripts to one above the other horribly ugly, and limits readability. But then is it $\chi_n$ which is squared, or the $n$th index of $\chi_2$?
