Definition

A quantity of time is usually referred to in natural language in the same terms as linear measure.

Thus it is usual to refer to a length of time of an elapsed quantity of time.

Also known as

The length of time a process takes to elapse, or an activity takes to complete, is commonly referred to as its duration.

The term time interval is also common.
